Flat Screen Televisions Vs Going To The Cinema

Years ago, when cinema first became popular, for a lot of people it was the only way for them to see movies, because most of them didn’t have their own televisions. The thing is though, cinema has always had a much better quality viewing experience than home televisions, so it has remained the ultimate way to experience a movie.

The Invention of Video Tapes

For a long time, the one problem with both cinema and TV is that you needed to watch a film at a specific time. With the invention of home video systems such as VHS and Betamax, movie fans were able to either record films from the TV or rent films from a video library. However, there was still the problem of quality, as cinema was still a far superior experience than watching a video at home.

The Rise of DVDs

Part of the quality issue was dramatically improved with the invention of the DVD. DVD meant that anyone could watch very high quality digital video at home. Unlike VHS tapes for example, DVDs didnt wear out or degrade over time, as long as you didnt get the discs scratched. From the 1990’s onwards, DVDs became extremely popular amongst movie fans. The only problem was, unless you had an extremely large TV screen and a very expensive sound system, you still wouldn’t get the same experience as the cinema.

The Experience of Home Cinema

Nowadays, the true home cinema experience is becoming much more of a reality for many people, as they buy large widescreen TVs and high quality speakers. For example, with a plasma TV screen of 50 inches or more, and being sat closer to the screen than you would be in a cinema, youre going to get a very cinematic feel. And you wont miss having someone sat behind you who wont stop talking through every scene.

Reasons to Visit the Cinema

However, even with home cinema quality jumping forwards in leaps and bounds, dont you think theres still something missing? Theres just something about actually going out to the cinema. It gives you a reason to spend time with your friends and experience something together. And lets face it: in all honesty, the experience at home really isnt quite as good as the full blown cinema experience, is it?

Why You Should Still Stay at Home Instead

The only problem with visiting the cinema is that it costs you more money than it does to just stay at home with a DVD. But also, when you’re at home, you can fit your movie watching around the other things you want to do. You can also eat your own food. Just relax and watch your favourite movie while eating your dinner.

Ways To Do Cartoon Drawing For Kids

Cartoons are fun. Well almost. If you are like me you certainly love to watch cartoon figures. But drawing cartoons is another story particularly if you are not aware of the basics.

If the thought of creating beautiful cartoon characters gives you high, read on, here you will find some tips that you can readily use to improve your skills and reduce the time taken to create beautiful cartoon characters.

There are certain things that are same for every style of drawing, be it realistic drawing or cartoony, now we will go quickly through the basics before getting specific to cartoony style.

1. Select your tools wisely. Clean your hands before starting your drawing. The paper you use for your work should be of good quality. Low grade, off colored paper will make your drawing look pale. Your first sketch should be made with light lines and for finalizing you should use deep-colored and prominent lines –so choose your pencils carefully.

2. Many times beginners find drawing a smooth line difficult. Remember drawing smooth lines will be easier if you do not support your hand on your wrist like we are used to do while writing. Doodling and drawing some circular shapes just before you start will also help you to draw smoothly.

3. Learn to draw facial features and hand carefully. Hands are more difficult. Experts often judge a person’s drawing ability from how well he can draw human hands. So practice drawing hands with care.

4. Study about basic forms and proportions of human body. Learn about basics of human anatomy and various ratios of human figures.

As a cartoon creator you will have certain liberties, you do not need to bind yourself with strict body proportions rules. You can draw four fingered (Thumb + Three) hand that makes your work a bit easier.

But one challenge you will face while drawing cartoons –cartoon characters needs to be more expressive and certainly you have to create this expressiveness with some lines drawn with your pencil.

Keep in mind that three areas of human face that play major role to express emotions are

1. Eyelids (wide open, half closed, almost fully closed etc.),

2. Eyebrows (raised, normal, crooked etc.) and

3. Lips (forming downward bow, upward bow etc.).

Other than these you can also use, hair (properly combed or ruffled), garments (well kept or torn) to create characters that tells a story.

Hope you find this tips useful. Coupled with some practice these tips will help you to take your cartoon drawing skills to a new level. Enjoy the fun of drawing beautiful and expressive cartoon characters.

From Metal To Horror Rap, Pop’s Most Shocking Stage Artists

Ever since the rise of rock and roll, some of the best underground music has also been some of the most shocking when performed live. In fact, many of the most distinctive underground music performers became true pop stars on the strength of their shocking live performances.

From Alice Cooper to Insane Clown Posse, the overall world of pop has been full of some jaw-dropping stage shows. Here are some of the most outrageous performers who have come out of underground music worlds.

Alice Cooper: Cooper was one of the original shock-rockers, whose wild ways would go on to influence underground music followers as diverse as metal bands and horror rap acts like Insane Clown Posse. Cooper’s been hanged onstage, danced with monsters, and been tormented by freaky, sexy nurses. And he’s still up to it in his 60s!

Marilyn Manson: Though he started in underground music scenes, Manson gained total fame — and infamy — based on his shows. Live Manson concerts involve simulated nudity, profanity galore, and even subverted fascist imagery. Although it provokes knee-jerk reactions, critical thinking reveals deeper meaning behind the shock.

Rammstein: This German underground music favorite doesn’t try to apply too much intellectualism to its live show, but it still aims to shock. Their performance fascinations are particularly sexual, full of simulated sodomy and other taboo perversions.

When they’re not freaking out the squares with that, they’re lighting their instruments on fire, soaking themselves in fake blood, or crowd-surfing in inflatable rafts.

Esham: This Detroit rapper is one of the founders of horror rap, though he doesn’t get much credit for this outside of the area’s underground music circles. Esham would later be cited as a major influence by later acts like Insane Clown Posse. His own brand of horror rap often blended rock beats with rhymes.

At the same time, he also performed his horror rap with a rock and roll type stage show. For much of his early career in underground music, he flirted openly with Satanic imagery, like so many horror rap artists would do after him. At the time, though, the mere existence of horror rap was shocking, as was Esham’s favored unabashedly psychedelic onstage atmosphere and lyrical content.

Insane Clown Posse: Following in Esham’s footsteps, Insane Clown Posse took up horror rap ideas with glee. Following with their favored album theme of the “Dark Carnival” mythology, Insane Clown Posse shows have featured murderous clowns, freak shows, and, usually, oceans of Faygo soda. It gets sprayed, shot from waterguns, poured from buckets, or just drop-kicked, bottle and all.

Vintage Bedroom Drama

When time is at an optimum, trying to find time to do any decorating can be difficult, however if you manage to get a free weekend, you can overhaul your bedroom in one fail swoop. In one weekend you add drama to a lacklustre bedroom, create vintage look with your bedroom furniture or bring a tired room together with a change in bedding design.

The first area for a mini overhaul is to look at your wall; are they looking tired or is there wallpaper trying to escape from the wall, is there little scratches that make it look untidy. Once you have assessed what it is about your walls that needs updating you can begin to organise what you need to door, if it is a simple task such as re-sticking wall paper then this can be achieved within a few minutes, however scratches can be a bit of an eye sore.

There are a couple of solutions to this problem, you can cover them over with your bedroom furniture, and by carefully positioning your wardrobe you can hide a myriad of sins. But to get that vintage drama we are looking for, try adding a large wall stencil, or attach soft sumptuous material to a board, add a few folds and voila, you have a dramatic textured wall art.

If you are a bit of a hoarder then creating the vintage look could be fairly easy for you, especially if you have a good selection of bold jewellery or chic neck scarves, draped on half body mannequin will add appeal, plus it will be much easier to find what you are looking for. You could attach decorative coat hooks to the wall and display your necklaces or scarves.

Lace is always good for creating that vintage feel, a single panel at the window will help diffuse light and it also has the added bonus of providing privacy. If you are concerned about light shining through at night time, you can always have a roller blind behind it and drop this down at night time.

For the vintage look your bedding needs to be in a creamy gold colour, the diffused light from the window will enhance this aspect of the room. As for the bedroom furniture, you probably won’t need to spend out on major pieces, but the key is to keep the furniture light, preferably white.

Don’t forget about adding the finishing touches such as pretty mirrored boxes, floral structured candle holders, ornate pictures frames and pretty bottles of perfume.

Business in Photography

Louis Daguerre of Paris, France can be said to be the Father of Commercial Photography. His daguerreotype of processing an image captured from then -advanced-technology- camera obscura was the pivotal development in the history of photography.

Although his first photograph with a human person in 1838 was an -accidental shot- which took more than 10 minutes of exposure in order for the image to be captured into his camera, it paved the way to the commercialization of photography. It created a demand for photographic portraiture in the middle classes which could not be sufficiently served by then current and expensive method of oil painting.

Commerce and industry opened its doors to photography. From its initial commercial visage of portraiture, photography evolved into other mercantile forms and vehicles, where it picked up payment for the -images- depicted rather than attach value to the photographs as -works of art-. Among the many forms and industry uses of photography, the following are mainstream applications:

Advertising photography that visually promotes products and services Fashion and glamour, usually employing models that enhance the products Crime scene photography as tools that offer clues and proofs to theories that help solve crimes and mysteries Still life photography depicting wonders that only photographs can convey Food photography, an area where food palatability is scrumptiously enhanced Editorial photography and photojournalism that successfully enhance and sensationalise news and stories Portrait and wedding photography that renders romanticism and sentimentality Landscape photography that serves to invigorate the tired soul Wildlife photography bringing realism to flora and fauna in their natural environments Paparazzi photography of freelance practitioners preying on usually -unsanctioned and unsolicited- personal photographs of celebrities, politicians, the prominent and wealthy that make juicy gossip items in prestigious publications

Aside from the top-class line of photography professions enumerated above, other businesses allied or related to photography have been an industry backbone that has contributed much to the economy of many countries, coming in different forms and modes:

Manufacture of equipment, accessories, consumables, parts and tools Sales and servicing of equipment, accessories and tools Photography and videography studios and services Image and photo printing and reproduction Printing media manufacture, sales and distribution Archiving and storage of document and photo images

There is also an opportunity area for photographs of national heritage import and/or phenomenal works of art such as 99 Cent II Diptychon, dubbed as -the most expensive photograph in the world- when it was auctioned for US$3.34 million at Sotheby’s on February 7, 2007.

Inclinometers – Instruments With Sensors

The inclinometer instrument is one which is used for geotechnical monitoring on the surface mines. These instruments are installed to measure the slope or tilt of the surface. These inclinometers have evolved with technology advancement and they are also serve many other purposes like checking the performance of anchors and struts and to see to it that the adjacent buildings are not affected by the ground movements, checking sheet piles and diaphragm walls to correct the deflections in the design limits, keeping check on upstream slopes and monitoring dams and the effects of tunneling operations to protect the adjacent structures from damaging by the ground movements and checking deformation of the concrete face of a dam and providing settlement profiles of foundations, embankments and other structures. And the advancement with technology is the inclinometer sensor.

The inclinometer instrument has a sensor and these are also known as tilt sensors, which generate an artificial horizon and measure the sloping tilt. These inclinometer sensors are used where tilt requires measuring, like cameras, automobile security system, aircraft flight controls, specialty switches and boom angle indication, platform leveling etc. There are many technical aspects that have to be taken care of before choosing an inclinometer sensor.

There are different sensor technologies and the common ones are Liquid Capacitive, gas bubble in liquid, accelerometer, electrolytic and pendulum. The inclinometer sensor technology has been implemented in video games also apart from being used in civil engineering. The inclinometer instrument aides in lateral deformation of concrete dams and tall structures, in measuring lateral movement activity down in the earth surface and tilt of structures in either one or two axial planes. Inclinometer instruments are designed to be temporarily or permanently installed to provide long term/short term observation with maximum resolution and sensitivity. Manual monitoring or remote data acquisition options are available for many instruments in the Inclinometer sensor category.

These inclinometers instruments with sensors also help in various other ways. Inclinometer instruments help in like measuring steepness of a ski slope or the angle of drilling in well logging or the list of ship in still water and its roll in rough water. It can also help in showing deviation from true vertical or horizontal and in some automotive safety systems. These instruments keep on having better versions with advancing technology and they would prove to be more and more helpful in various other ways than just the basic function.

Surgicall Instrument Tip Protectors

To protect valuable medical equipment its best to use tip protectors, scopes and forceps from being damaged. Many times the damage to an instrument from not using tip protectors is not repairable, This is why you will have to replace the medical instruments. There’s 2 different types of vent protectors vented (with holes) and non-vented (without holes). most indivuals prefer to use vented tip protectors because they are safer to use and easier to remove from the medical instrument, This method also minimizes finger punctures. Also the use of the vented tip protectors it also improves exposure of the sterilant to the devices surface.

Places to use tip protectors: -Tips of pointed scissors -Tips of sharp instruments -Skin hooks -Distal tip on rigid scopes -Cutting edges of osteotomes Surgical Instrument Protection Cases: There are multiple benefits for having sterilization/metal cases for specific instruments: -Keeps all your surgery equipment organized -Reduces the opportunity for misplacing a certain sized instrument -Protects the cutting edges of the instruments -Reduces the number of times the instruments have to be sharpened -Gives an organized fashion in the sterile field

Surgical Instrument Marking Tape Application 1)Clean fingers with rubbing alcohol to remove dirt, grease and oil 2)Wipe tape site with alcohol to get rid of any lubricant 3)Tape length should be only 1 – 1 times around and applied with firm tension 4)After tape is applied on the autoclave instruments. The heat will assist with the bonding of the tape. 5)Remeber to tape up your shanks of all surgical instruments, but avoid instruments rings. It wont be a big deal if you wrap your tape two times around the closing of the tips of scissors.

The Most Popular Horror Films of All Times

Horror films are designed to frighten and panic, to invoke our hidden worst fears, often in a terrifying, shocking finale. The earliest horror films were Gothic in style that means that they were usually set in spooky old mansions, castles, dark and shadowy locales.

The main character of these films were the “unknown”, human, supernatural creatures like vampires, devils, ghosts, monsters, demons, evil spirits, werewolves to the unseen presence of evil. The first horror movie, was only about two minutes long created by the French filmmaker Georges Melies “The Devils Castle”(Le Manoir du Diable)(1896) which contained some elements of later vampire films.

The most influential of the early films was “The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari”(Das Kabinet des Doktor Cligari)(1919) the Germanys silent expressionistic landmark classic. IN the early 1900s the German film Der Golem was the first horror-themed film which achieved great success. In the early 1930s Universal Studios created a modern film genre and brought to the screen the successful movies like “Dracula”, “Frankenstein” and “The Mummy”.

In the late 50s horror movies became a lot gorier as the technical side of cinematography became cheaper. Early 60s saw the release of two films wich close the gap between the subject and the viewer. One was “Peeping Tom” and the other was “Psycho”, both films rather use human monsters rather than supernatural ones to scare the audience.

“The Exorcist” (1973) broke all records for a horror film, after that in 1975 “Jaws” became the highest grossing film ever. Horror movies turned to self-mocking irony and downright parody in the 1990s when the teenagers in “Scream” often made a reference to the history of horror movies.

There is argument that horror films are socially and morally irresponsible, and they even influence to some people to imitate the brutal methods of the killers portrayed on the screen.

Anyway horror films have the opposite effect on normal people sick minds will commit crimes anyway. When we watch horror films we encounter our secret fears, share them with other viewers and eliminate the terror by facing with it.

But if you are not a movie lover or maybe you are too scared to watch a horror movie then maybe I have the right solution for you. Why do not you turn your computer on and look for some scary games on line?

Trust me you will be amazed by what you will found. There are a lots of games from creepy, horror, scary to those which are not too much scary. So choose the right one for you and enjoy playing it.

Or if you are a film lover than go ahead and take a troll through these favorite films of all time. If happens to you to hear sounds like whispering, or creepy sounds, just pay no attention to it. Its probably just the wind.
